Texas Instruments (TI) reported revenue of $4.45 billion in the second quarter, up 9% from the previous quarter and 16% from the previous year; gross profit of $2.6 billion, a gross profit margin of 58%, up 110 basis points from the previous quarter; net profit of $1.3 billion, up 15% from the previous year. Sales of Texas Instruments' analog chip business increased 18% year-on-year in the second quarter to $3.5 billion, exceeding the average analyst expectation of $3.39 billion for the department.
