BYD plans to start local production in Türkiye

The Turkish government has adjusted the special consumption tax on some fossil fuel and hybrid passenger vehicles to maintain currency stability. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD plans to start local production in Turkey. However, Turkey's new tax policy may affect sales of these models, as the lowest-tier special consumption tax on electric vehicles has been increased from 10% to 25%.
