Mercedes-Benz plans to use BMW engines

Mercedes-Benz is in advanced negotiations with the BMW Group regarding the supply of four-cylinder gasoline engines, with the goal of incorporating BMW's four-cylinder gasoline engines into several future Mercedes-Benz models. If an agreement is reached, Mercedes-Benz will not only secure a stable supply of engines that meet the stringent Euro 7 environmental standards, but will also be able to accelerate the expansion of its plug-in hybrid model portfolio without increasing investment in four-cylinder engine development.
