BYD to build new car assembly plant in Malaysia

BYD plans to build its first wholly-owned automobile assembly plant in the KLK Technology Park in Tanjong Malim, Perak, Malaysia, covering 900 mu (approximately 1,000 acres). Production is expected to begin in the second half of 2026. The plant will become BYD's fourth production base in Southeast Asia, further strengthening its strategic layout in the region.
