Slate Auto Signs Former Tesla Executive to Join the Company

Electric pickup truck startup Slate Auto recently announced that Napoleon Reyes, formerly head of Model Y assembly at Tesla's Fremont plant, has joined the company as Senior Vehicle Engineering Manager at the Warsaw plant. This follows the hiring of Rich Schmidt, Slate's manufacturing director, from Tesla. Founded in 2022 and backed by investors including Jeff Bezos' family, Slate Auto has raised approximately $700 million to date, valuing the company at nearly $1.2 billion.
