A Review of BAIC Manufacturing History

Founded in 1951, Beijing Automotive Manufacturing Corporation (BAIC) is the second largest automobile manufacturer after the First Automobile Works in Changchun. In 1983, BAIC established a joint venture with American Motors Corporation to form Beijing Jeep Corporation. In 2001, BAIC Manufacturing became a subsidiary of Beijing Automotive Holding Group. In 2012, BAIC Group spun off BAIC Manufacturing from BAIC Group, making it a first-tier holding subsidiary of BAIC Group.
