India plans to adjust several auto goods and services tax measures

India plans to adjust several automotive goods and services taxes, including those on hybrid vehicles, motorcycles, and large-displacement passenger cars. The tax rate on hybrid vehicles is expected to drop from 28% to 18%, while the tax rate on electric vehicles will remain at 5%. Furthermore, motorcycles and scooters with a displacement of less than 350cc will also enjoy tax reductions, while larger vehicles with larger displacement and longer wheelbases will face tax increases.
