India proposes hefty taxes on luxury electric vehicles

Recently, Indian government documents showed that the country's tax panel proposed a significant increase in consumption tax on luxury electric vehicles priced over $46,000. This move may affect the sales of automakers such as Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and BYD in India.
