BYD plans to expand in India

BYD plans to launch a new economy model in India early next year to strengthen its presence in the Indian market. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that with the easing of travel restrictions in India, BYD India General Manager Ketsu Zhang will travel to India in the coming months to meet with federal government officials and inspect BYD's passenger vehicle factory. In addition, BYD is considering launching its Atto 2 compact electric SUV in India early next year, which will become BYD's cheapest model in the country.
