Alibaba and Baidu step up efforts to develop their own AI chips

Alibaba and Baidu are using in-house designed chips to train their large AI models, partially replacing some Nvidia chips. Alibaba has reportedly been using its own chips for training lightweight AI models since the beginning of this year. Baidu is experimenting with using its Kunlun Core P800 chip to train a new version of its Wenxin large model.
