BorgWarner plans to lay off employees at its German battery technology center and factory

BorgWarner plans to implement significant layoffs at its Battery Technology Center and factory in Hesse, Germany. By January 2026, the company anticipates reducing approximately 40% of its positions at the Battery Technology Center and 45% of its jobs at the factory. Of the approximately 800 employees, nearly 350 will lose their jobs. BorgWarner attributes the layoffs to tight orders from major customers and overall unfavorable market conditions.
