Tesla plans to establish a European center in Berlin, Germany, focusing on materials research, vehicle and powertrain development. The center will be located on approximately 20,000 square meters of former industrial land in Köpenick, east of Berlin. Tesla selected Köpenick after examining over 30 potential sites. Tesla chose this location because of its size, sufficient energy supply, and strategic location between Berlin and Grünheide.
