On September 16, Audi CEO Gernot Dörner announced that Audi will maintain strategic flexibility and will continue to sell combustion-engine vehicles for "seven, eight, and possibly even ten years." Audi originally planned to launch its last new combustion-engine vehicles in 2026, and then transition to a pure electric brand starting in 2026. However, new models launched before 2026 will continue to be produced and sold until 2033.
