MediaTek and TSMC collaborate to launch 2nm process chips

MediaTek announced that its first flagship SoC, using TSMC's 2nm process, has completed design tapeout and is expected to enter mass production by the end of next year. The chip will be available by the end of 2026. TSMC's 2nm process technology utilizes a nanosheet transistor architecture, which increases logic density by 1.2 times, improves performance by 18%, and reduces power consumption by 36% compared to the existing N3E process.
