Tesla plans to merge electronic and manual door handle mechanisms

Tesla Design Director Franz von Holzhausen stated that Tesla is redesigning its door handle system to address the safety hazard of passengers being trapped inside the vehicle. The new design integrates the electronic and manual door locking mechanisms into a single button, aiming to make it more intuitive for passengers to operate the door in an emergency. This improvement responds to regulatory concerns about the safety of Tesla's doors.
