Tesla recalls Powerwall 2 energy storage products due to fire hazard

Tesla is recalling its Powerwall 2 energy storage products in Australia due to multiple reports of fires. These fires have caused minor property damage but no injuries. The recalled Powerwall 2 units were manufactured in the United States and sold between November 2020 and June 2022. The battery cells were produced by a third-party supplier. Tesla is discharging the affected batteries to reduce the risk of fire and will replace the recalled batteries free of charge.
