Tesla's Optimus robot production scale falls short of expectations

Tesla's Optimus robot production has failed to scale as planned. Musk stated in early 2025 that the company would produce at least 5,000 robots this year and 50,000 to 100,000 in 2026. However, The Information recently reported that only a few hundred Optimus robots were actually produced in the first eight months of this year.
