On October 13, the High Court in London officially opened a class action lawsuit against five major car manufacturers: Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Renault, Nissan, and Stellantis' Peugeot and Citroën subsidiaries. They are accused of cheating on diesel emissions tests. The trial is expected to last three months. The lawsuit, filed by 850,000 British car owners, is one of the largest class actions in British history. The court expects a ruling in the summer of 2026. If the owners win, the total compensation could reach billions of pounds.
