Samsung plans to regain the foundry throne this year, with a yield rate of 70%

Song Jae-hyeok, chief technology officer of Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions (DS) division, stated at a semiconductor industry conference convened by Kim Yong-beom, the South Korean president's chief policy advisor, that mass production of the 2nm process will be key to Samsung's return to leadership in foundry manufacturing. Samsung is fully committed to mass production of the 2nm process, with an internal yield target of approximately 70%, which it expects to achieve by the end of this year or early next year.
