Global chip shortage, Mercedes-Benz and BMW face production suspension crisis

Due to chip supply disruptions, Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant may face production halts for its Golf and Tiguan models. The German Association of the Automotive Industry stated that the industry's chip inventory only lasts 10-20 days, and German factories of giants like Mercedes-Benz and BMW are also at risk of production halts. The crisis was triggered by the Dutch government's intervention in the affairs of Nexperia, which led to China's export controls, cutting off the overseas supply of related chips.
