Applied Materials announces global layoffs

Applied Materials, a US semiconductor equipment manufacturer, has announced a global layoff plan, which will reduce its workforce by approximately 4% and is expected to affect more than 1,400 employees. The move is in response to market volatility and geopolitical challenges.
