TSMC's Japanese subsidiary JASM signed a factory construction contract with the Kikuyo Town government

On October 24th, TSMC's Japanese subsidiary, JASM, officially signed a contract with the Kikuyo Town government to build Kumamoto Fab 2, marking the official start of construction. Kumamoto Fab 2, located east of JASM's Fab 1, represents an investment of approximately US$13.9 billion and is expected to begin operations by the end of 2027. It will primarily produce 6nm semiconductor wafers, with a focus on applications in AI and autonomous driving.
