The German automotive industry faces severe challenges.

According to data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, by the end of the third quarter of 2025, the number of people employed in the German automotive industry had decreased by 48,700 compared to the previous year, a drop of 6.3%. This figure highlights the serious challenges facing the German automotive industry. Nevertheless, the automotive industry remains Germany's second-largest industrial sector, after the machinery manufacturing industry.
