As automotive electronic architecture evolves from distributed systems to domain-controlled ECUs and regional ECUs, Renesas Electronics has launched the RL78/F25 microcontroller to address the data transmission speed, payload capacity, and reliability requirements when actuator ECUs communicate with integrated control ECUs. The RL78/F25 supports CAN FD functionality at speeds up to 5 Mbps, features 20 64-byte payload buffers, and integrates security encryption. The products comply with ISO/SAE 21434 and ISO 26262 standards, support ASIL B FuSa and Evita-light, and are suitable for intelligent actuators and sensors.
