Russian car owners and dealers report problems with Porsche vehicles

Hundreds of Porsche cars in Russia suddenly became unable to start, drawing widespread attention. Porsche stated that the malfunction was not due to a design flaw, but rather a problem with the security system installed at the factory. The faulty module is reportedly the VTS (Vehicle Safety System) module, which can locate the vehicle via satellite and lock it if necessary. To unlock it, the control unit of the vehicle's anti-theft system must be removed and the infotainment system restarted. Porsche's representative office in Russia is investigating further details and will release its findings soon. Rolf, Russia's largest dealer group, stated that since November 28th, a large number of vehicles have become stranded because they lost connection to the satellite-connected vehicle alarm module.
