Chengdu Dayun Automobile Group Co., Ltd. recently experienced a collective protest by its employees. Hundreds of employees gathered at the company gate to demand answers due to long-term wage arrears. It is understood that the company began experiencing delayed wage payments in 2023. Between 2024 and 2025, the problem worsened, with some employees owed wages for as long as two years. Last year, the company also failed to pay severance pay as required by law during layoffs. This year, the company proposed that employees "resign first, and then receive their wages in installments," a proposal met with unanimous opposition. Employees reported that management adopted a hardline stance and made inflammatory remarks during communication, leading to escalating tensions. To force employees to accept the resignation plan, the company recently took a series of actions: shutting down the attendance system, closing the canteen, canceling accommodation, and issuing an internal notice stating that "the company has no funds for operation and recommends resigning as soon as possible."
