Nissan Motor Co. announced a collaboration with UK-based AI-powered autonomous driving company Wayve to jointly develop the next-generation ProPILOT driver assistance system. This system aims to enable hands-free driving on city roads and highways and is expected to be implemented in new Nissan vehicles after 2027. The collaboration focuses on leveraging Wayve's end-to-end AI technology to enhance ProPILOT's perception, decision-making, and control capabilities. It will initially launch in the Japanese market, followed by expansion to North America and other regions. Founded in 2017, Wayve specializes in software-defined autonomous driving and has previously collaborated with numerous automakers and technology companies.
