Samsung SDI and Stellantis to begin electric vehicle battery production

StarPlus Energy, the battery joint venture between Samsung SDI and Stellantis, is preparing to start production of electric vehicle batteries as soon as possible. Their factory in Indiana, USA, has four production lines: one for electric vehicle batteries and three for energy storage systems (ESS). StarPlus Energy initially planned to primarily produce electric vehicle batteries, but due to slowing demand for electric vehicles, Samsung SDI shifted its production focus to energy storage systems.
