Volkswagen's sales in China decline

In 2025, Volkswagen's sales in the Chinese market declined by 8%, falling to third place and being overtaken by BYD and Geely. Although Volkswagen still maintains its second position in the global market, in the crucial Chinese market, its gasoline-powered vehicles remain the mainstay of sales, while sales of pure electric vehicles plummeted by more than two-fifths.
