Surge in DRAM demand leads to price increases for smartphones and PCs

Market research firm TrendForce predicts that general-purpose DRAM contract prices will increase by 55-60% quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter of 2026. Smartphone manufacturers may face higher manufacturing costs and may need to compromise on specifications; otherwise, the increased costs will have to be passed on to consumers.
