The EU plans to impose additional tariffs on hybrid vehicles from China.

The European Commission plans to include hybrid electric vehicles (including plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and conventional hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) in the scope of additional tariffs. The relevant tariff rates may range from 7.8% to 35.3%. If combined with the conventional import tariff of 10%, the overall tariff rate for hybrid electric vehicles exported from China to the EU could reach as high as 45%.
