The Hyundai Motor union in South Korea has warned the company against deploying humanoid robots without union approval, citing a "job shock." Hyundai plans to begin deploying humanoid robots starting in 2028, a plan that has driven its stock price to a record high, but the union stated in an internal letter that this is not good news for workers. The union wrote, "Please remember that without a labor agreement, no robot using new technologies should be allowed in the workplace." It is understood that Hyundai's mobility software subsidiary, Autoever, has launched a humanoid robot vision proof-of-concept project aimed at improving the visual processing algorithms in its factories.
