Tianqi Lithium's wholly-owned subsidiary, Tianqi Chile, received a ruling from the Chilean Supreme Court rejecting its appeal. This means that Tianqi Lithium has lost control of the Atacama Salt Flat in Chile. The Atacama Salt Flat is the world's largest lithium salt flat, and Tianqi Lithium had previously invested US$4.066 billion to become SQM's second-largest shareholder.
