Sales of new energy vehicles in Spain are growing rapidly.

In 2025, Spain saw rapid growth in new energy vehicle sales, reaching 226,000 units for the year. Of these, 102,000 were pure electric vehicles, a 77.2% year-on-year increase, while 124,000 were plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, a 111.7% year-on-year increase. This growth was driven by the MOVES III subsidy program. In 2026, Spain will adopt an optimized subsidy scheme – Plan Auto+.
