BYD Releases Second-Generation Blade Battery and Flash Charge Technology

On March 5, 2026, BYD launched its second-generation blade battery and flash charging technology in Shenzhen, setting a new global record for the fastest mass-produced charging speed. It can fully charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes; and from 10% to 97% in just 9 minutes. At the same time, BYD announced its "Flash Charge China" strategy, planning to build 20,000 flash charging stations nationwide by the end of the year, making charging more convenient and accessible for users. The newly released second-generation blade battery not only solves the problems of slow charging and difficulty charging in low temperatures, but also improves energy density and battery life, providing users with unprecedented charging capabilities.
