Kyoto University in Japan has modified the Unitree Robotics G1 robot into a monk, allowing it to meditate and chant sutras in a Kyoto temple. This "cyber monk," dressed in monk's robes and equipped with ChatGPT, has studied a vast amount of Buddhist scriptures. It can not only chant sutras and chat, but also provide spiritual guidance to worshippers, and in the future, it will be able to preside over simple religious ceremonies such as prayers.
