Thomas Dmitrik, the leader of Tesla's Over-the-Air (OTA) update system and the underlying architecture of its Robotaxi ride-hailing software, has announced his departure from the company after 11 years at Tesla. Under his leadership, Tesla's software system grew from an initial small team of five to a system that provides large-scale over-the-air software updates, bug fixes, and new features to nearly 10 million Tesla vehicles worldwide. However, his departure may impact Tesla's Robotaxi commercialization process.
