Honda is facing sales pressure in China and plans to suspend operations at some factories.

Japanese automaker Honda plans to suspend operations at some of its joint venture plants in China, including a gasoline-powered vehicle plant under its joint venture with GAC Group, which is expected to cease operations in June 2026. Honda is also considering suspending operations at some of its joint venture plants with Dongfeng Motor. The plants slated for shutdown have an annual production capacity of 240,000 vehicles, representing approximately 20% of Honda's total production capacity of 1.2 million vehicles in China.
