Pony.ai explores the business model of Robotaxi.

At the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, Peng Jun, founder and CEO of Pony.ai, stated that Robotaxi is not about making more money simply because a single vehicle is more intelligent; rather, it's a business of fleet networks. The denser the fleet, the shorter passenger wait times, and the smaller the distance for picking up passengers while empty, thus increasing vehicle utilization. Pony.ai's Robotaxi fleet already exceeds 1,400 vehicles, with a user base surpassing one million.
