Meta ventures into space energy, partnering with Overview Energy to develop a 1GW space solar system.

Meta recently announced a partnership with startup Overview Energy to deploy a 1GW space-based solar power system. The project aims to collect solar energy from space and transmit it back to Earth to supplement the lack of green energy on the ground. Meta stated that the project will conduct its first demonstration of wireless power transmission from space in 2028, and if successful, could achieve commercial power generation as early as 2030.
