OmniVision Technologies recently launched the world's first automotive application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) OAX8000 optimized for entry-level independent driver monitoring systems (DMS). The chip integrates a neural processing unit (NPU) and an image signal processor (ISP), and provides on-chip DDR3 SDRAM memory (1GB). OAX8000 has high processing speed and low power consumption, which can meet Euro NCAP's requirements for DMS.
