FMCW LiDAR Technical Challenges

FMCW LiDAR faces challenges such as high cost, failure of 1550nm laser in rainy days, and inability to obtain reflectivity information. Despite the challenges, FMCW LiDAR is expected to coexist with TOF LiDAR due to its strong anti-interference ability and more thorough chipization. Market participants include Blackmore, Aeva, Mobileye, etc., among which Mobileye leads with Intel's silicon photonics technology.
