Nichia independently develops high-power red semiconductor laser light source

Nichia has successfully developed high-power red semiconductor laser chips independently, and mass production is expected to begin in the spring of 2024. This breakthrough will enable the company to fully independently produce red, green, and blue (RGB) primary color semiconductor laser chips to meet various customer needs. The company will accelerate the development and mass production of more efficient products for multi-purpose applications. At the same time, it will ensure production capacity through upfront investment to meet strong market demand.
