STMicroelectronics and GlobalFoundries collaborate to build new 12-inch wafer fab in France

STMicroelectronics (ST) and GlobalFoundries (GF) announced the establishment of a new 12-inch wafer joint venture in Crolles, France to meet the needs of European and global customers. The plant will reach its maximum capacity in 2026, with an annual capacity of 620,000 12-inch wafers. The new plant will use FD-SOI technology to support automotive, industrial, IoT and communication infrastructure.
