STMicroelectronics and MACOM successfully develop RF GaN-on-Si prototype chip

STMicroelectronics and MACOM announced that the jointly developed RF GaN-on-Si prototype chip has been successfully manufactured. This technology is expected to meet the high-performance requirements of 5G/6G mobile infrastructure and reduce costs. Currently, the prototype chip has entered the certification test phase and is expected to be mass-produced in 2022.
