Texas Instruments (TI) recently launched a highly integrated and functional safety-compliant isolated gate driver UCC5880-Q1, designed to help engineers design more efficient traction inverters to maximize the range of electric vehicles (EVs). The driver is suitable for SiC and IGBT traction inverters and has real-time variable gate drive capabilities, SPI communication interface, power module monitoring and protection, and other functions.
