Mobileye proposes new taxonomy for consumer self-driving cars

Mobileye released a new consumer-grade autonomous vehicle taxonomy at CES2023, aiming to simplify industry discussions and improve the safety, convenience and efficiency of autonomous vehicles. The new taxonomy is based on four axes: Eyes-on/Eyes-off, Hands-on/Hands-off, with and without a driver, and minimum risk strategy (MRM) requirements. Mobileye also proposed basic requirements for Eyes-on/Hands-off systems, including usefulness, safety and scalability.
