US bans Pentagon from buying batteries from six Chinese companies

U.S. lawmakers have banned the Department of Defense from buying batteries made by China's largest battery manufacturer. As part of the latest National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, this provision will take effect from October 2027. The six companies involved are CATL, BYD, Envision Energy, EVE Energy, Guoxuan High-tech and Haichen Energy Storage.
