Volkswagen faces chip shortage challenge, global sales decline

Volkswagen Group's global sales in January 2022 were 670,000 vehicles, down 16.0% year-on-year. The decline was mainly affected by the global shortage of semiconductor chips. Despite the challenges, Volkswagen still achieved a 10.2% increase in the Chinese market, with sales reaching 342,000 vehicles.
