On April 19 last year, CATL released the condensed state battery at the Shanghai Auto Show, a new type of battery with high energy density. According to Wu Kai, chief scientist of CATL, the condensed state battery is being developed in cooperation with the civil electric manned aircraft project. The energy density of this battery can reach up to 500 watt-hours/kilogram, which is much higher than the current mainstream ternary lithium battery (about 250 watt-hours/kilogram) and lithium iron phosphate battery (about 180 watt-hours/kilogram). The condensed state battery uses a high-power bionic condensed state electrolyte to improve the battery's kinetic performance and lithium ion transport efficiency.
